055: Murlocs are everywhere

I'm sitting at the train station, waiting for the homebound train, when I hear an all too familiar sound.

"Aaaaaughibbrgubugbugrguburgle!"

What? What the hell? Murlocs at the train station? No. Just the
ringtone of the guy sitting beside me.

Man, I love the way you can spot the WoWers in a group when they all jerk around on hearing that sound. My wife (a non-WoWer) is likewise amused.

I have that ringtone as a text message indicator! Usually I'm very good at putting my phone on vibrate so that I'm not openly broadcasting my murloc ringtone at all hours of the day, but I have had it go off in meetings before. /blush

I also have a few WoW shirts I wear from time to time, usually when I travel (my wife and I like to wear opposing faction shirts in that case). It's amazing how often people will just come up and ask "what server?" You meet the nicest people that way sometimes.

I really ought to set that as my ringtone, for easier identification as a WoWer (and hopefully to make connections to fellow addicts.)

But I'm afraid I might develop a case of the twitches. Might not be good for my health.

A buddy at work has that as his ringtone...the first time I heard it I nearly gave myself whiplash looking around for the source of it...

Sounds like a damn good reason to carry something long and sharp.

Too funny. :) I was in France once and saw somebody walk past with the linen shirt thingy - pointed to him and said "Warcraft!" with a big smile. He laughed and walked on, my friends were looking at me like I was crazy. :)
